Carnival Hanami Oat Matcha Latte w/ Matcha Pudding + Hokey Pokey

Although Hanami blend is the premium matcha shines best unsweetened for tea ceremony, but for those who likes it slightly more interesting, make matcha pudding with asagiri will add texture and to top it up, some home made hokey pokey combo balances sweetness with umami depth.

This is a luxe twist on your oat latte — silky pudding, crunchy hokey pokey, and the smooth umami of our Hanami blend from Uji. Best sipped slow.

🍵 What You’ll Need

  • 2g Hanami Matcha (for the latte)

  • 2g Asagiri Matcha (for pudding)

  • 2 cups milk (for pudding, can sub oat/soy)

  • ¼ cup cornstarch

  • ⅓ cup sugar

  • 2 tbsp sugar (for hokey pokey)

  • 1 tbsp water

  • 1 tbsp baking soda

  • 60ml oat milk (for latte)

 

🍮 Matcha Pudding

  1. In a saucepan, whisk Asagiri Matcha, cornstarch, milk, and sugar together.

  2. Cook on low heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened and silky.

  3. Remove from heat, cool, and set aside.

🍯 Hokey Pokey

  1. In a small pan, heat 2 tbsp sugar + 1 tbsp water on low until it bubbles light golden.

  2. Quickly stir in 1 tbsp baking soda (it will puff!).

  3. Let cool 5 min, then break into shards.

 

☁️ Hanami Latte Assembly

  1. Whisk 2g Hanami Matcha with 40ml hot water until frothy.

  2. Add 3 tbsp matcha pudding into a glass.

  3. Pour in whisked matcha + 60ml oat milk.

  4. Top with 3 pieces of hokey pokey.
