Carnival Matcha 100% Uji Matcha from Japan

Matcha Pistachio Nice Cream

Two ingredients between you and the best fake ice cream you've ever had.

Nice cream is massive on TikTok — and this version actually tastes like matcha, not just green banana. The secret is Asagiri, Carnival Matcha's ice cream grade, specifically selected because its bold flavour cuts through frozen fruit instead of disappearing. Same matcha Gelato & Tea uses for their matcha gelato.

Ingredients (2 serves)

  • 3 frozen bananas (peel and freeze overnight — ripe ones work best)
  • 2 tsp Carnival Matcha Asagiri — ice cream & sweets grade, bold astringency by design
  • 1 tbsp Just Nuts Pistachio Drizzle
  • Splash of milk (2–3 tbsp, just to help blending)

Toppings: Generous swirl of Just Nuts Pistachio Drizzle, crushed pistachios, granola, coconut flakes, or fresh fruit

Method

  1. Break frozen bananas into chunks and add to a food processor or high-powered blender.
  2. Add matcha powder, pistachio drizzle, and milk.
  3. Blend until thick and creamy — stop and scrape down sides as needed. You want soft-serve texture, not smoothie.
  4. Scoop into bowls immediately (soft serve consistency) or freeze for 1 hour for firmer scoops.
  5. Drizzle pistachio drizzle over the top. Don't be shy.
  6. Add toppings and serve.

Why Asagiri?

We created Asagiri specifically for frozen applications. When matcha meets frozen ingredients, weaker grades lose their flavour entirely — you end up with green banana ice cream that tastes like banana. Asagiri's bold astringency cuts through the cold and the sweet so you actually taste matcha. It's the same grade Gelato & Tea uses for their matcha gelato.
