Carnival Matcha 100% Uji Matcha from Japan

Hojicha Pistachio Latte

For the nights when matcha is too much energy but you still want your ritual.

Hojicha is trending hard as the "evening matcha" — nutty, toasty, low caffeine. Pairing it with pistachio is a natural flavour match (both warm, nutty, rich) that none of our competitors are doing. Meet Kaze — roasted Japanese green tea with caramel vibes and almost zero caffeine.

Ingredients (1 serve)

  • 1 tsp Carnival Matcha Kaze Hojicha — roasted Japanese green tea. Nutty, caramel vibes, almost zero caffeine.
  • 200ml milk of choice (oat milk brings out the nuttiness)
  • 1 tsp Just Nuts Pistachio Drizzle — stirred into the base
  • Extra drizzle of Just Nuts Pistachio Drizzle on top
  • Honey or vanilla syrup to taste (optional)

Method — Hot version

  1. Whisk hojicha powder into 3 tbsp hot water (80°C) until smooth.
  2. Stir pistachio drizzle into the hojicha mixture.
  3. Heat and froth your milk.
  4. Pour frothed milk into a mug, then pour the hojicha-pistachio base through the centre.
  5. Finish with a swirl of pistachio drizzle on top.

Method — Iced version

  1. Whisk hojicha powder into 3 tbsp hot water until smooth.
  2. Stir pistachio drizzle into the hojicha mixture. Let cool slightly.
  3. Fill a glass with ice.
  4. Pour milk over ice.
  5. Pour the hojicha-pistachio mixture over the top.
  6. Drizzle pistachio drizzle on top. Stir or layer.

Why Kaze?

Kaze is our hojicha — roasted Japanese green tea with a completely different profile from matcha. Where matcha is bright and vegetal, Kaze is warm, toasty, and nutty. It pairs with pistachio the way coffee pairs with hazelnut — naturally. And with almost no caffeine, it's the 8pm latte that won't wreck your sleep.
